I think Sundays will be my explore-a-new-trail day.
Or at least as many Sundays as I can manage.
Yesterday's hike was the Walker Ranch Loop.
It is one of the trails recommended in the awesome Boulder area
trail guide my dear friends gave me as a housewarming gift.
It is suppose to be about 7.6 miles all the way around the loop.
But, in true Ann fashion, I parked in the wrong parking lot and
had to hike an additional 3/4 mile just to get to the trailhead.
Silly me. This wasn't so bad on the front end, but by the time
I finished the loop, the thought of another 3/4 of a mile to the car
just about made me cry.
I'm proud to say that even with stopping to take pictures and enjoy
some time along the river banks, I was still able to complete the hike in
just 4 hours! Not bad for a flatlander.
No mishaps. Only two small blisters on two toes.
And no wildlife other than birds. But I love birds, so its all good.
This trial is very popular with the mountain bikers. There where more
bikers than hikers, but it wasn't a problem at all. Everyone so friendly
and courteous. And gosh, some of those boys were HOT! Too bad
I'm not into mountain biking.
Well, today is another beautiful day, so I'm off now to enjoy some
outside time. I hope this Labor Day is treating everyone well.
Get outside and..
